Composer's demo track for the musical "Hell on Earth" based on the 1992 movie Bad Lieutenant.
The video is just a montage.
===
Scene: Bad Lt. pays a visit to the junkie. He drinks, shoots and gets high.
===
The Lt sings, backed-up by the three other characters: the junkie, the hooker (this was the scene in the movie where they were dancing semi-naked)and a new character the devil (not visible from the other stage characters).
===
There was no devil in the movie but a devil was added in the musical to create a subplot. The devil's objective here is to prove to God that the gift of freewill to man was wrong. The devil also act as a storyteller through monologues, giving the main character exits from the storyline.
===
A clash can now develop between a fallen angel who needs to prove his point and a human being who need a break (a much needed win in gambling) to prevent his fall.
===
My objective is to divide the audience's sympathy: a human being suffering from mistakes he created? or a fallen angel punished for being honest. The devil's story is not based on any dogma. I titled the devil's short story: "Satan, Retired".
