A video compilation of all my homemade hybrid rocket engine tests conducted during the summer of 2009.

*Yes, I have seen "The Dish". That is where the idea from the music came from.

  • how much money must i spend do build one of those? i drafted (a smaller/little different) one and now i am wondering myself how realistic it is to build it on my own, because as a student i have a limited budget^^.

  • The total cost of the project was around $400-500, mostly spent on nitrous oxide ($8/pound). As I have no machine tools, the chamber was built from a hydraulic cylinder and all other parts are from the hardware store. A local automotive speed shop loaned me the nitrous tank, which greatly reduced costs. Such stores are great resources for this kind of work.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your rocketry endeavors.
