Free tip for the dudes that scratched their pointer's barrel in the vice or with the pliers:
Sand the black rubber off with >400 grain sandpaper.
Smooth it out with 800 grain and buff it with copper oxide paste.
The head is brass and the battery barrel is aluminum. The brass looks awesome when buffed to a shine. The aluminum will become duller shortly but still look good.
The rings and caps are usually Ni plated brass. Could also be sanded and buffed.

i was able to twist the pot without taking the laser apart just use ling small tweezers and pushed on the side of the pot to turn it if u look under the laser where the spring is there is a black foam around it just get the foam out. then use tweezers or a small screw driver to turn the pot put the foam back and ur done
if the laser is weaker than b4 u turned the pot the wrong direction
