A July 1942 reception at the Carver Memorial in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan. The memorial was created by Henry Ford in honor of agricultural chemist George Washington Carver. Carver, Henry Ford and Edsel Ford pose in front of the Memorial, a replica of Carver's Diamond Grove, Missouri, log cabin birthplace. Also includes Carver and others at the dedication of the Ford Motor Company Nutritional Laboratory, Dearborn, Michigan, which came to be known locally as the Carver Laboratory. Under Carver's supervision, weed sandwiches are prepared in the laboratory, and Henry Ford tries a sample.
