Reportage! Reportage! Reportage! Come one everyone! It is a matter a feeling. And I FEEL this unreleased album must be good if the record company didn't want it! Perhaps the band could release it on their own and let the public prove the record company wrong! VIVA LA REVOLUTION! :)

Uh-oh. Don't say Reportage around Duran fans. It's opening up a can of worms. But, IMHO I would love to hear it. Andy is a great guitarist and I just prefer original line up Duran Duran. The clip of the song you can hear Simon working on sounds interesting.

*throws the paper ball back at Nick *
We want REPORTAGE .. damn it ! :p

thanks for that, Jose.
I believe that most great bands...are basically playing their own kind of musical invention. like u2 is basically playing u2 music...all the time.
Rio was Duran's OWN vision of what rock music was...to them...their interpretation of THEIR WORLD.
IT WAS A SUPERNATURAL GLIMPSE.
THEY SHOULD HAVE DEVELOPED IT FURTHER...
I am ALSO a recording artist with my own original sound.

you know what Duran Duran should just release it, for the real fans, I'll f'in buy it !!
I like RCM I hate night runner though

Unfortunately I think every U2 song sounds the same. Thank goodness I left U2 in the 80s with their freaking boring sound and Bono's big ego. As for "putting up with" anything. Fans buy records and I guess RCM didn't sell enough to their "80s fans" so it matters. It matters to the pocket book of the band. That' why blogs and boards don't really do or change anything. Only money changes everything.

Liberty's the pits in my opinion (confused, lack of direction, only a few decent songs among totally abysmal tracks), but I don't understand all the dissing of RCM. Granted, it's probably their most contrived album, but it's also one of their more consistently decent albums since the early years - not really a bad song on the album, which is probably why they were so confident in performing it in full back when it was first released.

There's a reason this record never saw the light of day. I've heard that it's completely different than ANYTHING the band ever did before. Not even CLOSE... and probably their best/most INTERESTING record. Michael Patterson is an awesome producer! He gets bands to REVEAL who they REALLY are.. to take away the mask and captures it on tape. What would that sound like?
We need Duran at its original roots. Red Carpet massacre was one bloody disaster. I'd rather listen to Liberty!

I personally Love RCM and Liberty , my favorite is Meddazzaland , and this band is always changing and have 13 albums , not one is the same at the other , the root is the music , in one thing agree with everybody , The labels are greeddy bastards !!!! ...
