MPGomatic.com puts a 2011 Ford Transit Connect to work over a week-long test drive. [ Full Review: http://www.mpgomatic.com/2011/10/11/2011-ford-transit-connect-review/ ]

We rolled up over 400 miles in our Transit Connect XLT Premium Wagon. The 2.0-liter inline four cylinder Duratech engine produces 136 horsepower (HP) and 128 foot pounds of torque.

The only options were a rear view camera ($470) and reverse sensing system ($280)

MSRP was $23,200. Options, destination and delivery brought the total to $24,015.00.

MPGomatic produces car reviews videos with a unique focus on gas mileage, in-cabin technology, and driveability. Yep, we're the folks that shoot those 0-60 MPH tests.

  • Dan, so are you not doing reviews of every car you 0-60 now?

  • @bg1379 The aim is still a full review of every vehicle that rolls in the driveway. I have a backlog of tape on the desk. Post-production takes a significant amount of time and it's been snowballing ... I should have the Charger and Optima out next.

  • Dan, you're awesome. Your reviews are enjoyable, and your sense of humor really shines through. Keep up the great work!

  • @ihategeneralmotors Thanks for the kind words and support! :)

  • What video editing software do you use? I'm pretty sure it's easy to add a timer for the 0-60 in any professional editor.

  • @ynkno13 Final Cut.

  • Btw there is a TurboDiesel version with smaller displacement but more torque in EU,not sure about US.

  • Great european specs van, that's what we have here in europe too, aswell with huge Transits that also have the 2.0 engine, kind of slow 0-60 but i don't care.

The small 2.0 with the FWD offers great economy and makes you jealous no RWD,what else can i say? They are just too great and pretty!!!

Although Ford could put one of their 2.0 Turbo engines on it and make it a little bit more eager to breath when you touch the acceleration pedal.

  • What a strange way to open the hood, reminds me of an 88 caprice trunk...

  • This vehicle is essentially designed for those who run a small business. Now, if you don't have the luxury to get a big truck or van; this'll do.

  • the headlights and grille look like theyre off the older fusions

  • Get one and turn it into a love wagon. Complete with a disco ball, large speakers to play funk music, and shag carpeting. You'd need to atleast turbocharge it if you plan on adding that waterbed.

  • Great review, and massively impressive van! 28MPG!

  • is that tin foil?
