October 1st, 2010. At the Dunois theater in Paris, during a party celebrating the 30th anniversary of nato and the numerous links of the record company to the historical theater, Violeta Ferrer sung "Romance de la Guardia Civil Española" of Andalusian poet Federico Garcia Lorca accompanied by clarinet player Sylvain Kassap.
Ferrer and Kassap are some of the first artists to have recorded for nato in the early 80s and both of their first album for the cat company, Poemas de Federico Garcia Lorca and L'Arlésienne, had parts recorded in the old Dunois theater.
In a context of brutal governmental repression of the gypsies (used as classic scapegoats), the reading of that poem took special significance.
Muchas gracias a Violetta Ferrer pour su magnifica diccion!Pero la musica cobre su voz!
