About the project and FAQ

Transparent House used its visualization capabilities to create a tribute to a company they greatly admire on the occasion of the iPad release. The idea was to show a glimpse into the history of this product giant by modeling some of the innovative products they've developed in their 3+ decade history.

The animation was done entirely using 3Ds Max and V-Ray render and took about 10 days to complete. Professionally done 3D visualization is the perfect tool to present concepts or new products in a beautiful, photoreal style, while creating a mood with music and conveying a message, through on-screen text or narration.

This animation was an artistic exercise and not intended for commercial use. The animation is not affiliated with Apple or any third-party companies. We hope this animation will be used mainly as an educational tool for the 3d visualization or/and design industry.

To answer some of the FAQ:
- Yes. Everything you see in the animation is done completely in CG. We didn't go through any kind of "trouble" to create this animation. We do visualization for the living and this particular exercise was so much fun!
- We only used photographs available on the web for the modeling.
- We didn't include iMacs, iPods, Nanos and other products in the animation since we wanted to show products which in our opinion better relate to iPad. There were also some time limitations - we simply couldn't fit every product in.
Soundtrack is by Oleg Galkin done especially for our animation. His site: http://www.vimeo.com/oleggalkin
- HD version of the animation will be available to the public in April.

  • I don't see the point of going through all the digital trouble and be so ignorant of Apple history. It makes no sense.

  • Check out out FAQs in the info section.

  • Thanks for your comments. We get a lot of comments and questions on why iMacs or iPods were not shown in the animation. The movie was done on the occasion of release of iPad. We wanted to show the products in Apple history that in our opinion were best related to the nature of the iPad. There were also time limitations - we just couldn' t get every product in.

Burdell2, We'll send you the link to download of 720p animation. Thanks!

  • That was very well made.

  • iPod and iMac shouldn't have been left out at all...esp. iPod which definitely influenced and evolved the creation to the very last product The iPad

  • I think the iPod influenced the iPad more than an Apple I but meh, still awesome.

  • so.....let me get this straight. They released the "revolutionary" iPhone in 2007, and it took them 3 years to release a "GIANT IPOD TOUCH".

  • you guys should re-render in HD and possibly 3D (that would be so cool for those of us with nvidia 3d vision)

  • *kept

  • everything keeped getting sexier until I saw the ipad.

I laughed at it cause its a big silly ipod touch.

  • I don't know if anyone caught this but on the 1st. Gen. iPhone it says it has a 3G Connection when in reality it doesn't! Oh well, still an amazing video.

  • maybe he couldn't put more x)

anyway, great job, it was interesting [=

  • what about iPod?

  • Macintosh 1? Don't you mean Macintosh 128k? Yes incomplete.
