I have Vista and I cant get my computer to reconize that my guitar is plugged into my sound card? (i have vista) Any suggestions??

If you have Vista you won't get the pulldown for Stereo Mix. Do this:

In Audacity, click Edit, Preferences, Audio I/O. (you might have to arrow-left to see Audio I/O). In Recording click Audio Sound Mapper. Make sure "Software Playthrough" is unchecked or you'll get echo.

In your computer's Realtek you must have "Stereo Mix" working. Right click on the speaker icon on your bottom tool bar. Click Recording Devices, disable everything except Stereo Mix and enable it.

he probably has a microphone and when you have the microphone thats not like attached to your computer screen and you have to plug it in then your holding it up to your mouth it makes a sound pretty much every time you move it
