Auto iris makes loud grinding noise. It's LOUDER than a fan.
On top of that - with every white scene , projector makes some electronic noise like a old CRT.
UPDATE: Epson said this unit is defective so they are going to make a replacement...I said "NO, thanks / asked for a refund" .... and bought another projector" ..another Epson.
Picture quality is really good but the build quality is...
same Problem here. Really Loud Noise on B/W changes esp. on Computer.

Same problem here. The IRIS I can accept, at least you can disable it. But the electronic noise is very annoying. Connected to my computer I can actually change the frequency of the buzzing by moving and resizing windows.
I have contacted Epson support. They didn't make a good impression so far. I'll have to wait and see whether they will be able to fix it.

@pparisi99
I got a response from Epson that this was a DOA, so I only had to return it to get a new one, within 28 (!) days (a bit too long).
After reading a lot of forums i have realized that the iris is actually quite loud, and that a replacement would most certainly be loud.
Also, after mounting it upside down in the ceiling the "grinding" noice became much better. So I have decided to keep it without returning.

I have been in contact with Epson support, and they will get back to me in a couple of days to see if i will get a replacement.
