Copenhagen is the city in the world with the highest quality of life. The renowned British magazine Monocle, whose editor in chief Tyler Brûlé is also the founder of Wallpaper Magazine, has ranked Copenhagen no. 1 in its 2008 global quality of life survey. Copenhagen leaves all the other cities behind because of its development in architecture, design and gourmet food. Also the city's public transportation, bicycle culture, harbor baths, green public spaces and trendy cafes contribute to a high quality of life. Not least Copenhagen manages to integrate design in everyday life to make life easy and friction-free for residents as well as visitors. According to Monocle, the Danish capital is designed for life. • Yes it's still a lot, but as a product of this we get free hospital care, free education including universities, schools and technical schools. Free parks and roads. We even get socialsupport while taking an education!

But against all predictions, this system does work. it haven't ruined the danish population, and i believe this is because of the size of Denmark.

With our relative small but still very mixed population, no political party can get large enough to damage the population.

  • 1. We don't pay 50% tax -.- if you haven't got a Job you can get socialcheck which is 5500kr(ca. 950usd) a month. (3times lesser than average)

Our tax-system is a complex-model which works as follows:

You have a monthly amount of money which you don't have to pay tax from. This amount varies depending on your spendings on loans, transport, and such.

This is normally 4800kr. After this point you pay about 40% in tax until you reach the "top tax level".(30.000kr) after that its 50% of the rest.
