@nickjames46 Seriously? He was a corrupt, out-of-control mini dictator. In Louisiana, he believed in "limited government", limited to Huey Long's control. He ruined careers and destroyed the lives of anyone who got in his way. He spent tax payers money, as if he'd just won the lottery and used it to build monuments to himself. He was a fascinating, but very dangerous historical figure, but certainly no one to revere.

Lincoln freed the slaves. Then he died, the Radical Republicans fell apart, and the recently freed became subjected to reactionary right-wing economic exploitation for over fifty years.

Huey enabled their exploited wage-slave children educational access to develops skills and attempt legitimate socio-economic equality. Had Lincoln done his job, there wouldn't have been a need for Gov. Long to get books and roads to a black population purposefully denied them.
