READ ME!
The aim of this little video series is to help anybody that is seeking to learn their favorite Coheed tunes on guitar or bass! Keep in mind, however, that these are my interpretations of the songs and they're not always 100% correct. (I like to think they are, though!)
Here we have This Shattered Symphony, one of the many kickass guitar lines on Year of the Black Rainbow. Standard tuning EADGBE. Lots of hammer ons, pull offs and emphasized plucks mixed with quick mutes in the verse rhythm line, so keep an eye on my right hand in particular for the strum pattern. It's also pretty tough to learn at a slower rhythm because the melody really takes shape at normal speed. Once it clicks, it's quite fun.
I DO NOT HAVE TABS! I DO NOT HAVE TABS! I DON'T HAVE TABS! TABS DON'T I HAVE NOT! (try to learn by ear with my fingers as aid!)

Have you tried playing it starting on the 3rd fret of the A string instead of the 8th on the E?
Just curious.

@XaleManix I tend to watch Claudio and go from there before inventing anything myself ;)
