from the 1969 album Oar.

The album was recorded after Spence had spent six months in Bellevue Hospital. The majority of the tracks were recorded using a three-track recorder. As described by Ross Bennett, "Combining the ramblings of a man on the brink of mental collapse with some real moments of flippancy and laughter, Oar is a genuinely strange record.

  • @robieanson The chords? Can't you just figure it out by ear? Fairly simple cowboy chords here. Unless you're just starting on guitar of course.

  • @MDJarv

Did you know this was written as a first person experience? Skippy was never "mad" where music was concerned. I knew a very gentle person.

  • anyone know the chords to this by chance?

  • @phud1975 That's "Gun", not "Cunt"

  • Love listening to this song when everything seems so hopeless.

  • From the Jefferson Starship to Moby Grape...

  • I thought it said 'weighted down by the gun' but the more I listen the more it sounds like there is a T at the end and it sounds like 'cunt'.

  • Am I hearing things, or does he say "Weighted down by the cunt" at 1:34-35? I've heard this a hundred times and just now caught this...

  • this one always puts me down, then hits me hard at the end. but it feels good.
