Sailing our Gemini 105Mc Catamaran Sailboat down the East River in New York City. We had to motor most of the journey due to winds on our nose. I am originally from New York City (77St. 1st Ave). Growing up in New York City, I never imagined sailing down the East River with my own yacht. I use to hang out at John Jay park as a kid (in fact my parents met there). As such some of the video dwells on that neighborhood. I hope you all enjoy this short video tour.
Very interesting, would've liked to hear the audio...

"passed" not "past" (in the trailer)
I'm planning on doing that trip next season in a 20 foot aluminum. Any advice (besides mind my own business when it comes to correcting word usage).

Terrific video. I grew up in New York City and drove the FDR numerous times. I like your closeup of it. I never even heard of John Jay Park before, but I lived mainly in the Bronx.
When I was about 11, I got a chance to cruise down the East River in an old-time motor yacht, about 100 ft. long. It was a thrill. My brother even got to take the wheel!
I actually swam in the East River close to shore under the Whitestone Bridge. I can tell you the current is VERY strong.

Very interesting, I lived on Long Island most of my life and saw plenty of the Island and N.Y.C. buy seeing it from the waters view is quit interesting! Great video!
