GTA 1 Tip/Trick - How to prevent police from killing you

This is a small trick which enables you to be totally protected from the police in GTA 1.
You will be safe in between three cars, while still being able to attack the police (and other people) with the flame thrower. The police won't be able to shoot you in any way. Here's how to do it:

Park two cars against a wall with some space between them. Park a third car below them, so there is as little space between them as possible. Step away from the vehicles and blow them up. Slide over the wrecks, and you should be safe between the three cars and the wall. Now go kill some people, and wait for the police to arrive. Once they arrive, slide over the cars again, and you're absolutely safe. The police won't be able to shoot through the wrecks, but you're still able to burn them with your flame thrower. Have fun!
