I've seen this site a number of times and it always makes me laugh. They do a good job faking. But, I always wondered what it does once it was downloaded. So I started up a fresh install of Windows XP in VirtualBox and ran it. I'm so glade that I'm a Linux user and don't have to worry about things like this. If Microsoft took the time to security there OS the people who make programs like this would have nothing to do. They would fade away.

  • cool :3 the link is now dead , it got destroyed

  • @raceforspeed: yeah, but I get links and attachments like this one in my yahoo junk mail account every day. What is nice, is that it seems to take AV like Norton a few days to get updated to the point where it can detect the new versions of the fake AV. Once again, really AV is just as big of a scam as the fake stuff :)

  • I have virtual pc, can I do this in here too without the Virus spreading to my real PC?

  • @Headcrabman99: You mean like VirtualBox. Yeah, you should be safe installing this in there. I would make a Snapshot with VirtualBox before doing just in case you want to go back. I would be a good way to compare before and after.

  • so how is this different from your regular McAffee( or whatever that thing is called )?

modus operandi looks the same: scare the client showing him how many viruses he has, make him pay, rinse and repeat. maybe just a tiny wee less professional...

  • @whereisthetea42: I have to agree with you.

  • I got something like this a while back while I was on Google. It said I had 9387 worms in a folder that had like three files...

  • @metalx1000 what if i use vmware?

  • its funny they take your credit card number and they buy a bunch of stuff online i know a person that purchased it and still had problems ended up having to reinstall the whole computer and had to fight fraud charges with her bank

  • We got that on my school computer. /shifty

  • hate these things. it happened to me just now. luckily i have a good antivurs scanner and deleted it. if i ever run into the perosn who came up with those things, well, bad things will happen cause this is the third freaking time.

  • Something like this happened to my dad. He was looking up a Soviet Union basketball player, and a link sent him to kojce.co.be, which was pretty much the same as this. After he installed the virus "protection" I walked up to him and found a dead givaway. We don't have a D:/ drive

  • I have had this virus three times but click the x and it stops it cant initialize faat enough

  • It is called System Tools & it is super hard to remove, I heard that Malwarebytes can remove it. In my opinion it is just best to do a clean install if you were dumb enough to get infected with something like that.

  • @NARUTOxVSxPEIN i don't know why your F****** comment is in top

  • this has happened to me twice and i got so scared i just unplugged the computer and went to bed
