It's all easily accesable commercial music, but it is not nearly as shallow and commercial as lady gaga or so.

I just like something else now and again. Werchter is kinda all the same. Rock, indy, little bit dnb, electro, techno, pop, rap; that's basically it. I'd like to add some dub, raggae, dnb (noisia or harder), dubstep, hardcore, frenchcore...and loads of 'subgenres' I never even heard about. Dour = adventure.

there is heart in soul in loads of acts and more then a few bands that have come to werchter in the last 10 years also went to Dour... I agree that lady gaga, milk inc & katy perry are a real letdown. But I don't know where you get pussycat dolls??? They have never been and never will be... At least i hope so. ;)

You just don't like it bacause you're more into electronic music or stuff that comes to dour. I like it all, that's the only differnce. You like to complain i like yo look for the good

Saying most of the acts at werchter are a product of the music industry is just not true: Prodigy, 2 many dj's, tiga, pendulum, laurent garnier, nick cave, bloc party,... and i can go on forever if i get the names of the last 10 years. These are all well respected bands, dj's or whatever. Making a statement as yours is just as shallow as the people you're trying to avoid... I used to be the same but realised it isn't as black & white as you make it sound.

That's up to you. I am just saying that some/most of the acts at Werchter are just a product which the music industry sell much like a car or cellphone, fed to seemingly brainless masses by marketeers, known as 'the merchants of cool'. I just wonder where the heart and soul is in that.

+I don't really like rock all that much.

I'm gonna have a great time at Dour with acts that are all about music and which will never feature at Werchter.

The only thing that is overpriced is the beer and I still like more then half of the names that are coming, that means that i will be busy for most of the time and more names or stages like on pukkelpop or dour would be a waste of time... I understand your point of view, but I enjoy both Werchter & Dour and i'm not gonna sit there and complain about being part of the "sheeple" if that means missing some verrry great performances.... I'm going, and i'm gonna have a great time, unlike you...
