In this slow-motion video, we measure Arnold Palmer's downswing separation, to show how he was able to consistently generate club head speed and distance. Overall, Palmer had the most efficient golf swing of any pro we have measured.

Just as a rocket fires each stage separately, Arnold Palmer separated the movement of his legs, hips, shoulders, arm and hands during his downswing. His amount of separation was far superior to any pro playing today. This separation allowed him to drive the ball as far as 346 yards with the old equipment. Because separation effortlessly produces club head speed, Palmer was able to rack up 92 victories including four Masters.
