Ran fan trailer. Set in feudal Japan, this retelling of "King Lear" is an amazing accomplishment in film. Can't really say much that hasn't already been said about it.
(And the Music is Dead Can Dance's "The Host of the Seraphim".)

high and low, ikiru, yojimbo, rashomon, seven samurai, throne of blood, the hidden fortress, sanjuro plus so many more.
there are so many great kurosawa films it almost feels wrong trying to rank them .

Seven Samurai is undoubtedly No. 1...Throne of Blood is good too...
But Ran in its massive scope has to be at least top 5 IMO.

the bard was brutally honest yet funny though. You needed someone to relieve the tone once in a while.
