@timmy841212 It's a female group called the Jewels, which included Martha Harvin who would later be known as Matha High.

Yeah sounds like female background singers. You have to understand by 1966, James Brown was only using the Flames for live performances. They were hardly singing background on his records after 1964 though they continued to collaborate with James on lyrics until it was just Bobby Byrd left (around 1967 or 1968).

Love this B-side. I was fascinated to read a JB interview where he said he thought it was better than the A-side!!

@ensconse I wasn't aware that he said that. It might not be better than "Man's World" but I like it just as much. Thanks for your comment, my friend!

@sfratpack
You're welcome! I can't recall where I read it but JB also said he wishes he could also do [something like] "You've Got The Power" on stage [but he feels committed to greatest hits].
...but...That's Life!

@ensconse I wish artists wouldn't limit themselves like that. Fans who pay money to see an artist in concert are usually familiar with much of their catalog and would love to hear an excellent album track or a B side performed live.

this song shows his amazing voice

I agree. This seldom heard song could have been a hit if promoted as an A side. Sometimes an artist is so good some of his material "goes to waste." Thanks for your comment!
