I find it funny how everyone from the world of warcraft thinks that the lord of the rings online stole all the ideas. This is the lich king vs witch king video. wow vs lotro feel free to leave comments deathknights.
@Dreydan Those all have reasoning though. Gandalf isn't actually a human he is a Valar in a human form. Aragorn is of royal numenorian blood and aged very much slower than other men. When he was 87 (at the time frodo left the shire) he was nearing the prime of his life. There is nothing significant about Eowyn that suggests she would be capable of killing an evil shade, let alone the witch king.
Well men seem to be the prominent figures fighting in LOTR, but it shouldn't rule out women being able to do stuff others can't. Aragorn was still concidered a "man" even for living as long as he did. Gandolf was a wizard, so even humans had some magic to them. It shouldn't be that unlikely that a woman couldn't also do something unusual. Only the author knows for certain, but her being a woman seems the most popular theory.
@Dreydan I don't think the woman killing a nazgul really makes any sense. I mean what's so magically different about a woman that she can kill a nazgul but a man can't? It might make sense if a elf could, or a wizard, or even a dwarf. Since they are completely different races but a woman is part of the human race. I think in any kind of world that makes sense the witch king would either be completely immortal or not nearly as fear-worthy as he is seen to be.
no one copied no one, they are two different characters and they are completely different, last i checked the Witch king wasnt wielding some Ice sword and mind controlling undead from the frozen wastes of the world or the Lich king wasnt a specter and commander of orcs serving some guy with a base in a barren wasteland of ashes and fire. Totally different.
Actually I do, the subliminal message was: do not compare lore with lore that doesn't even come close to each other. It are two different things and people should keep it like that.
But no, ofcourse, people are gay enough to feel so proud and ballsy they WANT to bash on the other game/lore to 'come' up for the game they play.
Here, there's my message, I hope you are the only one who didn't get it in the first place.
Copied or not, Elves and Orcs were pretty much established as popular races in the lotro books. It shouldn't matter if there are other similarities. We could get technical that people use swords or wear armor in different games, but that wouldn't make much sense either.
