Took my time to get this done. Sorry for the delay.

This is my entry for the play it forward ukulele video contest: http://ukulelereview.com

In this tutorial I show you how to play Nantes by Beirut adapted for the ukulele.

I realise I'm never the best at trying to explain things so any feedback on the tutorial would be greatly appreciated. As I improve I hope to do more tutorials on various bits but particularly other Beirut songs.

Many thanks and I hope you enjoy the video and learning Nantes as much as I enjoy playing it :3

  • Great video man, really! But I had one question, it's a bit hard to see, what is the difference between the first chord and the last one, i mean the place were you put your fingers?

    Thanks, Sam

  • Thanks for that Sam :3

For the first chord, your index finger is on the E string on the 1st fret, and your middle finger will bar the G and C strings on the 2nd fret.

The 2nd chord is almost the same except your middle finger is just on the G string 2nd fret.

    Hope that makes sense ;)

  • which string do you pluck?

  • Hey, thanks for asking, never thought about that bit when I did the tutorial lol.

I pluck the C string on the first chord and then the E string on the second and third chords so the notes you would get will be D, E and F.

    Hope that helps

  • alright mr bean

  • Thank you very much for this accessible and well-made tutorial. I'd have really liked a little bit more elaboration on how to do a brush stroke and a muted stroke. Do you have any tips on those?

    Again, thank you.
