BKB had spent the day driving from Nelson, BC, (850 km + a ferry ride), then set up. Lead singer Natalie Pa'apa'a suggested a little fan energy could help. The full-house Waverley crowd needed no further encouragement; the place went crazy and the high-energy, super-vibe became intensely reciprocal. One of the best shows of the year, with a wicked dub rhythm section clearly inspired by BKB's collaboration with Sly and Robbie, with song hooks that remain in mind for days, and upbeat/insightful/inspired lyrics. Natalie Pa'apa'a clearly respects Lauryn Hill, the Marleys and others. So lucky to be on their North America/European tour. Massive respect to to CVW!
