SpaceX Capsule to Supply ISS Hits Trouble

The private SpaceX company launched an unmanned rocket with capsule to ferry a ton of supplies to the International Space Station. Once in orbit, some of the capsule's thrusters wouldn't work. (March 1)

The Mars trip in 2018 would only be a fly-by and would not orbit or land. It *might* use a rocket like the Falcon 9 Heavy or the Delta IV Heavy, but the exact launch vehicle or spacecraft developer has not been decided upon yet.

When there has always been plans to send an orbitor around the planet Mars as a back up supply ship with a unman ship at the ready for a return trip / a Robot(s) as the one on the ISS was to Manage, the Craft. ???
