@ricculus ovechkin barely was beat by crosby and stamkos and he also miss games due to suspension so being as close and he was with that many games less he definately could have one the scoring race and the caps lost to the same team the penguins did

@The00jew actually ovechkin is not unargueably the best player in the nhl. crosby and stamkos both outscored him last year. and i will garuntee that neither took even close to as many shots. he is very good but not necessarily the best. the capitals are not number one in the league and wont be until they prove themselves to be a cup contender and not a first round exit

The Caps are number one in the league. they have both the highest scoring player ( Ovechkin) and the highest scoring defensemen (Green). they can deffinatly pull off a cup win. get off crosby's tip

Alexander Ovechkin is unargueably the best player currently in the NHL and the top goal should have been Ovechkin's goal where while practically on his back he swung his stick over his head and still scored. Ovechkin is the best. The Capitals are currently Number one in the league and have a high probability of winning the cup.

Why argue over who got nominated or who got MVP. All three player are very skilled and helped their team in a different way. My U19 triple a team would be nothing if we werent a team the team makes a differnece not one or two people

If it were about the best player on a certain team, it would be Zetterberg there because he spent more time and actually does better. Most likely the idea for it is that they have a sniper (Ovechkin), a playmaker (Malkin), and a dangler (Datsyuk). It's not for most valuable to his team, because then they need it for to say the best of the team, and it would be Ovechkin, Semin, and Backstrom. Or Crosby, Malkin, Fleury. It's the best in the league of the previous season based on their efforts

Actually, the Hart Trophy goes to the MVP of the entire league over the entire season. Ovechkin won it because he was the most consistent and probably would've won the Art Ross had he played the entire season like Malkin. Which makes him the perfect candidate to win the Hart, and that kind of play, which is somewhat getting duplicated by his teammates is going to lead to a cup soon too. And Datsyuk was nominated because he was consistant, and is one of, if not THE, best danglers in the league.

Yea those would have been the three most likely if Crosby and Malkin werent on the same team. Pavel Datsyuk, though, is on a team of amazing players so he doesnt shine as bright but he is amazing. I wouldnt go around saying Crosby is better than Datsyuk because many would argue that
