This song is best done as a sole. Finbar himself has done an excellent job doing and you can listen to it on YouTube. When Pavarotti and the other 2 great tenors sang together much of the time they too were not in unison. It happens to everyone. Not all tenors are the same pitch.
i love the irish tenors i dont believe they have to be in unison for them to be good each of them contribute a lot to each song they do and even though they may not be in unison i believe they still sound amazing i saw them live in florida in december they were absolutly stunning its just something you should hear live you get a complelty diffrent feel of the music
@tuberwupp Please send me a video of Pavarotti singing Danny boy. If you are unable to expand your musical envelope to classical Irish melodies, at least consider that Pavarotti is not universally recognized as the greatest operatic tenor. There are other contenders for that title, including (but not limited to) Franco Corelli, Jusssi Borling, and Enrico Caruso.
I don't know if you spoke out of humor or just shameless ignorance but either way I hope this information is useful to you.
