Medellin Colombia -Poblado Walking Tour -Loma de Los Balsos and Avenue Poblado

This is Part 1 of my tour of "El Pobaldo" in Medellin Colombia. I start by leaving Hotel la Casa Medellin, then walk down to where they are building the new Santa Fe Shopping Center (the largest shopping center in Colombia) and then continue along Avenue Poblado until I reach Parque LLeras.

The locals call this area of Avenue Poblado "The Golden Mile" since it is the most upscale area of Medellin with all the big shopping centers, banks, stock brokers, office buildings, casinos, etc.

I have taken well over 100 photos on this tour that I am going to share in a series of videos. In this video you will see the street called "Loma de los Balsos" where it meets the Avenue Poblado and some of the local businesses such as Carulla which is the largest 24 hour grocery store in Medellin, the new Locatel building and of course the Santa Fe shopping center which is still under construction.

The photos were taken November the 1st 2009. I plan to make several other short videos in the next months showing the progress being developed in Medellin as well as other parts of Colombia.
