All those who tell of their home towns are lucky, I moved about every 4 years from birth. I'm now 18, and its hard most times. I love this song

I was there in the front row of this show

I grew up in a little village, surrounded by woods and fields. In summer every kid from school helped with the crops for dime and a beer. We kissed our first girl in the fields, went hunting in the fall, learned about nature and by that about being part of earth as mankind.
Now it's a suburb where kids think porc-chops come from the candyfactory and yuppie enviromentalists build estates wanting to return to nature? wanting to abolish age-old hunting? I too prefer my memories ...

....It was my sons 6th birthday recently, We took a trip to a small town of 700 people where I grew up as a kid, I put him on my lap and let him steer the vehicle through town, so much has changed , I moved the rear view mirror so I could see His face and looked into heaven that day.

I recently took a trip back to my home town. Growing up in the 60s, the population was between 4,000 and 5,000. It's been some 20 years since I was there. As I drove through the streets, gone was the small town feeling. Developers had cut down much of the woods and built subdivisions. Yuppies moved in and then decided to run for public office to show us country folks how to run our town. I thought of this song as I drove through. I won't go back again. I prefer to remember it like it was...
