@SamWiseGingy No, it regulated slavery in an age when it was even more rampant than today. Same as the lex talionis, the Law didn't invent or sanction revenge, it regulated it. That trajectory ended up with anti-slavery christians Wilberforce and Lincoln, and with "turn the other cheek".

There are lots of ideas that be proved wrong that don't commend themselves to belief.

Jesus may have been a real man, the issue is was he super natural man and if you can believe in god that would pleased with a human blood sacrifice.
