Get BIoShock for less than $10 at amazon: http://adf.ly/22pL5

Me playing BioShock on PS2! I ripped the file from my BioShock PC DVD, reprogrammed + optimized and copied the new files onto a blank DVD (*I use a PS2 Mod Chip to play the DVD*). A video game can be ran on almost any machine if it can be optimized and encoded for that particular machine.

I developed a console game reprogramming tool on my computer and imported the PS2 and PC engine configurations, and basically edited the BioShock source files to support a new runtime environment and texture limits. I didn't do any actual model edits, but such a task would have improved performance at the cost of polygon count. Frame rates are surprisingly solid (18 FPS average) and the game is very playable. The PS2 heats up after about 30-45 minutes so I have to save and turn off for a couple minutes, then I can play again. I guess that is why it didn't release on PS2? XD!
I have been playing since the first level, and this is a quick clip of "Point Prometheus."

EDIT: Guys I forgot to mention I am using a PS2 MOD CHIP. The technology allows playback of burned DVD's on the PS2.

And thanks for the support guys :) I just hit 2,000 views. Looks like popularity went up because of BioShock 2!

Over the past couple months I began reviewing some binaries in my BioShock 2 PC copy to get a feel for what I'll need be dealing with. In other words, I am beginning my journey on converting BioShock 2 to a PS2 playable file. Since the same physics engine was used there will be a lot of time saved, but the game has a lot of new elements that I need to reconfigure my reprogramming environment for to make a convert properly. 2K improved some shaders and added a few polygons but nothing drastic. I'm gonna take this chance to improve and cleanup my strings, and maybe get some decent performance out of this one but honestly expect the worst. And don't ask for a copy, this is strictly private and I will not distribute any software physically or over the web. First of all, I'm already modifying copyrighted material, but second, you need a PS2 modchip and a replacement DVDR/W drive as well (to save your game to the disc). I was thinking about saving through USB but I already went through the trouble with the new DVD writer.

  • If HDLoader could run something like a .daa, it could potentially run this just as well, am I correct?

  • @IBreakGames if I exported the game that way, yes. and you're right in your other comment, you can downgrade textures and replace the engine so it feels like BIoShock. you just have to know how to replace the engine. developers do this for games for multi consoles (like madden games made with different engines for both ps2 and xbox 360)

  • @gabster90806 Nvm I think it was a Rosie.

  • @gabster90806 Well Rosies are big daddies

  • Video is fake. We know PS2 cannot run Bioshock. We also know Bioshock wasn't made for PS2 either. You got another person somehow playing in the background.

  • no no, sorry my fault, just thought for a moment that BS1 was natively for ps2

  • @1111cyclopes Yeah?

  • @TrantaLocked does ps2 modchip has «expiration time» or it always works ?

  • yeah you reversed-ingeneered a complete game and re-programmed 90% on the game to run on a extremely closed and different platform like the ps2 just to play it...on the ps2. Sorry but I cant believe you managed to do it (if its possible), or at least that you had the time/patience to do it (its a job of more than thousands hours.)

  • guy like you did to run bioshock on the PS2?

  • Fake, but cool but you will ask ¿how do you know?

Simple: PS2 is ON and a ps3 is on too but IN....

dah! someone behind you is playing ps3 that's hidden somewhere

    FAKE

  • @IBreakGames Or you could just mod a game so heavily that it looks, plays and feels like Bioshock, but really isn't.
