Using a Makino a61 horizontal machine tool with a 20,000 rpm HSK63A spindle with the core cooling technology we were able to produce this lifter complete in 2 fixturings to complete net shape with only minutes of hand work to drop it in the pocket.

  • Douro, I believe there is a special package that you can buy to get it to "submicron" level, but the machine cost to do the work you see in the video is under $350K and with the standard accuracy machine we'd be comfortable with plus or minus 2 tenths in everyday cutting. Makino's are built to a "submicron" level build accuracy, but if you really want to split tenths, theres some goodies you need to buy special to get to that level in production. There's opts you can add to get the $ up there

  • that tombstone and vice was provided by Stevens Engineering from Arizona (think AZ...pretty sure that's where they are at) SSTTools.com I think distributes for them.
