http://whenyourestrangemovie.com/ The is amazing footage of Jim Morrison that you have never seen so the film is a must see. For people who have been following me you know I am beyond exhausted and I have been sick. My brain is super tired so this is the best I can do. I include a clip of the director speaking to us at Angelika's on Houston Street. Just a note: a young man from Angelika's asked me to stop filming the director. I am sure the director is glad I filmed him because he says he doesn't have a lot of paid advertising so in theory I am helping to promote his film and he did an excellent job speaking up his journey making the film I would think Angelika would encourage people to film the director as well to sell movie tickets. See the film and take a ride with Johnny Depp and Tom DiCillio as we break on through to see remember The Door and see a very young Jim Morrison. Their music is still so fresh and cutting edge. It is a break to look back in to the past from the luxury of a movie theatre even if the ticket is $12.50 and the popcorn a small that was too big and too expensive $6 (prices criminal).
The audience was so Jim Morrison The Doors literate it was amazing and even had some factoids for the director. One example was the man sitting in front of me who told the director and audience that Johnny Dep was Oliver Stone's first choice but Depp did not like the script and turned Stone down. They asked him if interviewed his brother and the director said no. Did he get a chance to talk to his father before he died. No. Overwhelming thumbs down to the Oliver Stone movie which does pale in comparison to the live footage. The footage inside the recording studio did not have sound or the director later digging found it but he worked hard with editing and bringing this to our attention now when maybe we needed to be shaken out of our anti-depressant, tv consuming world and break on through....

I believe more of Morrison's work and even the film HWY maybe being released down the road. Tom DeCillio I believe know more on this topic but he brought and will bring pleasure to Jim Morrison and The Doors fan especially with this unseen footage of a young Jim.
Special Note: The film highlights a letter Jim's Dad wrote him urging him to stop singing because he has not talent.

According to Wikepedia, Rolling Stone lists him as one of the top 100 best singers. (Do you think Jim is saying Thanks Dad?)
Tom also talked about Jim giving a 100 percent. I believe he gave more. He gave up a lot, he gave his all...Tom said it poetically in the movie. I love the fire reference. Liz Smith quoted me in her column a long time ago -- my favorite zen saying is live each moment as if your hair is on fire. I means give each moment your all but for me that is more than 100 percent -- it is your everything....heart soul guts passion....
Ironic note: Read this a new piece on drugs from The New York Times. I do not do any art or creative work under the influence. I have never even smoked pot but there is no doubt that drugs influence creativity. The only problem is the abuse of drugs is a killer of creativity and lives. ......http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/12/science/12psychedelics.html?hp

Sorry, I do not know when the film will be released in Mexico but I have heard it will be shown on public TV here in NYC. I just don't know when. There are some great clips on YouTube and you can go to the text portion for Tom, the director's blog. Thank you for stopping by! Sorry I cannot be of more help.
