Hey, everyone. De here, with a brand new game being introduced to the channel; the long awaited (3 freaking years!) Tekken 6, usually a PlayStation exclusive but now fully welcome on the Xbox 360. To tell you all the truth I've had the game since Friday, being lucky enough to pick up the game from a local hotspot, so I've had the time to try to shake off the years of rust since playing Tekken 5 on the PS2. I still have a long way to go until I can fully get back into the swing of Tekken and getting my characters' movelists down, but of course that'll improve the more I play the game.

Since this is the first video of the game for the channel and a lot of people won't be able to play this until Tuesday, I can give off a bit of what you can expect from T6. First things first, this game delivers when it comes to the fighting. Everything is fluid in design, and if your dedicated to whatever character you chose to pick you'll find plenty of deep mechanics in each one to keep you wanting to train to refine yourself.

Today marked the update for the online mode, and at the moment I can say it's at least a tiny bit better than Soul Calibur IV. There hasn't been any motion lag as far as flatout freezing, but (since I'm assuming I'm being paired up with more people in other countries rather than in the US due to the leaks) there can be some button delay lag in replace of that (got destroyed by a Bob and narrowly beat a novice Raven player because of like a 1 second to 1/2 second delay in button presses, which WILL kill you in Tekken where timing is everything).

As far as the online community's character choice, I've been paired up with a lot of Lars despite me only playing about 10-12 ranked matches so far... I guess I should've seen this one coming since he's the new cool guy in Tekken, but at least overall Tekken has more character diversity online than Street Fighter IV (Ryu & Sagats fucking EVERYWHERE...) Considering this (and a lot of novices that'll just jump into online without proper training), I'm also expecting a lot of Law, Paul, Hwoarang and mashing Eddy/Christie players due to them being "mashers" by people who don't really have a clue how to play. Haven't ran into anyone that can at least do an intermediate combo yet and since I was just warming up today, you only see basic link combos from me in these fights, but then again, the real Tekken rush hasn't started yet. So for now, enjoy these few matches I'm putting up. I also put up some extra thoughts in the following match description since it was too long for here, so if you're interested, go ahead and check it out.

P.S: And in case anyone's wondering just yet, I'm maining Lili & Xiaoyu, although you'll see me use Kazuya, Asuka & Lee as well, and maybe a few other surprises.

  • DeNice, no offence yh, but you need to learn Kazuya Mishima juggles....makes life easier....and finishes the match wid n o sweat...=)

  • Two things: One, that videos was taken when I only had the game for about 3 days, so I was still very early in my learning curve. So of course I sucked [I noted that in my description, you know...] Two, since then I've dropped Kazuya and just play Xiao and Lili. Turns out I just wasn't clicking with him and the whole Xbox D-pad making DPs near impossible also count pretty well with the decision.

  • what system were you playing on?

  • 360

  • I've always wanted to play tekken 6 but the only chance I usually get is at the arcades in japan, even then I hold back because everyone there is freaking pro, I mean EVERYONE.

  • man i was watchin dis and i had to say sometin bout dis dis lars is garbage....hope u been training or sometin

  • @Tick386. not good people. i win with mokujin all da against scrubs mashing with all characters

  • @Tick386. not good people

  • @GodsmacKam I know u wrote this 5 months ago, but Law is not a spam character. All he has is that clip. Look out for that and hes a peace of cake. He doesnt have a lot of mix up high low chains. Making him easy to fight standing up. Hes really straight forward unlike Lee.

  • @ILOVETVSHOWZ Nah thats bs. I can whoop on ppl with him and i dont use him a all. Him and Baek. Im a bit better with Baek tho.

  • @Tick386. actually characters like hwoarang are some of the hardest to master.
