    This song predates The Animals by, at a minimum 30 years. The earliest known recording is from 1933 and the gentleman that recorded it claims to have learned it from his Grandfather. Some music historians claim it is based off a 16th century English folk song about a brothel in Soho and that it was brought to the U.S by settlers
