An extra from the Star Trek 7
See how an epic disaster scene was believably realized with pure model work in 1994.

  • Models look better than any CGI. I wish they used them more in today's cinema!

  • Nice a time when they still filmed real objects, now we just have cartoony graphics shit.

  • this just looks perfect. you can't do it better than this

  • Phenomenal!

  • They chucked as much footage in this scene as possible - some parts look like the model is being dragged at normal (not high speed) time - the 2nd unit close-ups look great tho

  • CGI is soooooo much better.

  • @evdude2005 איציק ספנסיב.

  • For Fuck's Sake, Starfleet, It's called 'Seatbelts'!

  • @evdude2005 Agreed. Modeling in filmaking is a lost art.

  • I hate it when "Oh shit!" get's cut.

  • I love these behind the scenes shorts. Though I didn't care for "Generations" that much, this was an incredible effect. I just wish it had been edited down a bit. I seemed to take forever for the Enterprise to come to a stop.

  • @Uberdude25 agreed. models make things look more realistic and with them you can't tell if it's real or not. but the computer graphics make things stick out like a sore thumb
