@staff50ord Tran-Am has allways been like this,it the way it is run,they try to keep the cars together. Its still keeps it interesting even when there were turbos in Trans-Am they tried to keep the cars together.I love British cars and i wish there was some video of the Dolomite that ran in Trans-Am. That was another cool British car to run. Also I wish this whole race was uploaded. I have watched it several times becasue it is so good.

That TR8 won the first three Trans Am races it entered. The SCCA kept adding weight penalties so Group 44 switched to IMSA where they were equally as competitve. If the original TR7's had V8's British Leyland would probably still be making cars today. Unfortunately only 2800 TR8's were produced before B.L. folded.

Bob Tullius in the Group 44 Triumph TR8 won the first three races of the TransAm series that year but the SCCA kept adding weight penalties to their car. Finally Group 44 said screw it and switched to IMSA where they were also front runners.
There will always be an England. :-)
