Plasma Sword Arcade Run - Claire

Yep, a 2nd playthrough. This time of my 2nd favorite character, Claire. (1st being Hayato) Remember what I said about half the roster being clones? Well, with the exception of the 2 characters on both the left and right corners of the select screen, all the characters on the top row are considered the "main" characters and all on the bottom row are the arguably less relevant clones. Claire is one of them, as she is a clone of Gerelt, a character from the original Star Gladiator.

Now on to the character, I love Claire, she's awesome. I hate Gerelt, but honestly between the two I think the moveset is more fitting for Claire. That and her supers are superior to Gerelt's imo.

As for tier placement, I'd love to say high or top, but a big part of their game is pokes, naturally because they are fencers with rapiers. But a big part of the game is sidestepping so a lot of their shenanigans are easy to get around including all but one of their specials. So I'll go with mid-high.

As for the somewhat coherent story, Claire and Gerelt are soldiers under Bilstien's command.

Now more of the game, Star Gladiator 2/Plasma Sword was not a well recieved title and did very poorly critic wise. I think the game has lots of potential for a reboot especially in the graphics area, so half the roster are clones, you can remedy that easily in this day and age with a little imagination. Story would probably require the most work, but story is the least relevant in fighting games so it doesn't matter much. If rebooted I see a game like this having a system kind of like a mixture of Street Fighter, VS Games and Soul Calibur. I personally think that would be amazing and original. But unfortunately Street Fighter and Marvel are the love children of Capcom and I don't see them rebooting this franchise because of both it's lack of fanbase and overall obscurity. Same reason why we probably won't see Rival Schools and Power Stone come back, even if those games have a larger chance.

The lack of possibility of a reboot is one of the reasons I'm pushing so hard for Hayato to be in MVC3 or even TVC2 if it gets made. I never requested for another SG character because requesting an obscure character from an obscure franchise that has nearly no chance of getting in is nonsense. But If I could have a 2nd SG2 character alongside Hayato, it would definitely be Claire.
