A description of the Cockroach Controlled Mobile Robot, by Garnet Hertz:

"Cockroach Controlled Mobile Robot" is an experimental mechanism that uses a living Madagascan hissing cockroach atop a modified trackball to control a three-wheeled robot. If the cockroach moves left, the robot moves left. Infrared sensors also provide navigation feedback to the cockroach, striving to create a pseudo-intelligent system with the cockroach as the CPU

  • That's cool and all, but they should use a different bug. Roaches are nasty! They only study they deserve is in how to more effectively kill them.

  • games will be sooo awesome with this tecnology+holograms

  • In 2012 the cockroaches will attack the world with robots:D

  • im pretty sure it was just tryin to run off that ball. lol

  • Pretty cool! Now all they need to do is make the lights working with the sensors start lighting very dimly as it approaches an object from a distance. Then when the robot gets really close to an object, have the lights get brighter and brighter. Poor roachie lol.

  • He's the life of the party and nobody seems to notice the shit smears on his ping pong ball!

  • Cyborg attack!

  • a better name the roach coach.

  • Awesome :)
