  • @rockmt1911 i guess your point is people never tried to revolutionize their industries back in china, there were no civil wars, it wasn't like 1500 million people born but 500 million survive. what a pathetic perception of the world you have.

  • Bairoch's early figures (used here) need to be taken with a pinch of salt: China's overstated at the beginning, while India's 19th-century deindustrialisation (though very real) was far less catastrophic than the chart suggests.

And note that we're just seeing shares of a world total that's grown more than 100-fold in the past 200 years: China's 5% in 1980 was already ten times more than its stated third in 1800. Now of course it's a whole lot bigger again.

  • can u fuck off

  • this is wrong actually india industrialized before china

  • Good, but it doesn't highlight the adverse effect such as global warming, environmental desvastation, colonialism, world wars, and apocalyptic cold war the west have caused. While China was able to feed 500 million two hundred years ago without bring the world on the brink of destruction.

  • Good, but the industrial production in this video over highlights the size rather than the technology and competitive ability.
