What's up with the whistles? It sounds like there are two; one with a pull cord and the other with a simple on/off valve. And I must say, the whistle with the instant-on-instant-off sounds a lot like the IAIS QJs.

Pretty impressive, better than the 2317's run I'd say. What would you say that is moving at around 1;30, about 70 mph or better?

This was on the same track Amtrak Hiawatha Service runs between Chicago & Milwaukee. I'm sure it was doing the posted passenger speed at that location. It was quite impressive!

Yard Goat, I was on the Minneapolis-Glenwood trip. 2816 untied her train at the Glenwood depot, traveled to & spun on the turntable, and coupled onto the rear of the observation car to head back to Minneapolis. I watched her in July traveling South through Alexandria MN to Glenwood & Minneapolis for the fan trips.

That was a great trip, and is documented on 2816: Chasing Canadian Pacific Steam Across the Midwest. We have pacing shots as the special approached Glenwood as well as the turntable scene.

Which trip were you on, the Minneapolis - Glenwood turntable trip or the the one heading on to Thief River Falls?
