This was done on an Acer 5515, but "should" work on most Acers

I do not accept responsibility for ANY loss of data done.
Your C:\ drive will be completely formatted and Windows will be re installed. When done, your laptop should be in the same condition it was when you bought from store (software not hardware smart ones...) It will be up to you to do any windows updates if you chose to do so, updating windows is recommended.

spidr, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me in game... would be better to ask before you start =)

  • lol,... replied to a few post ive already replied too...

  • what about if both alt f10 and ctrl f10 didnt work what ells can i do?

  • @zSEVEREz try shift + f10

  • i have an acer aspire 5z42z, (Windows 7 64Bit) with a recovery partition, when i run the factory default disks (which i burned with the eRecovery management program) the question i want to ask is, will the programs that came with the laptop remain as they were when i bought it or will it just be a raw windows 7 with no extra software? this is improtant because it came with MS Office preloaded (Home & Student) along with other programs such as NTI Media Maker and so on

  • @stillalive0013 it will come as if it just left the factory, when you buy it from the store its as if it just came from the factory as well. if not then someone was messing with your laptop prior to your purchase, and you need to take action =) maybe get some money.

  • @D1r7yD Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it. What is regedit? I never heard about it. Is there a way to reprogam my computer to set the wireless antenna so that it does not turn on when computer turns on?

  • @KennyReddwooddforest have you looked online for a way to do that within regedit?

  • @movieediter1 also was the angle the camera was at/

  • @BlizzKrieger well.... windows does not provide internet, just a client to use it. you will keep internet explorer. As for microsoft word, it depends on your version of windows (ex basic, home, premium) at the very least you will have wordpad and notepad.

If your laptop came with microsoft word when it was bought brand new from a store, then yes you will keep it.

  • @Coldasskilla24 yes you will lose everything. My suggestion is:

    1) Download and burn a linux live cd (ex: ubuntu

    2) plug in a usb and boot off the cd

    3) Mount your windows and usb drive

    4) browse every file in your windows drive. copy/pastefiles to keep onto the usb.

    5) safely eject the usb drive, plug into a seperate pc one that has an updated realtime av scanner)

    6) open a few files to make sure none got corrupted for some reason

    7) then boot into eRecovery and factory restore

  • Hi, ive got à question. Ive got à problem with my acer aspire 6930g. I Cannot log in and dunno what to do. I'm in erecovery management at THE moment, but havent made à backup. Will i lose everything on my pc when i choose to perform: recover factory default? Cause i dont want that.. Please help me!!!

  • if i do this will i still have microsoft word and internet?
