A guitar cover of Parkway Drive's "Five Months" from the album "Horizons", super fun song to play.

This is the first cover I've recorded using my VHT Deliverance 60 head, which sounds absolutely killer. I'm still trying to figure out the best position for the microphone to capture the awesome tone, but the results here aren't too bad.

If you're thinking about buying a VHT / Fryette amp, do it.

Guitar: ESP EC401FM with EMG 81/60.
Amplifier: VHT Deliverance 60 Head.
Pedals: Boss NS-2, Maxon OD808.
Microphone: Shure SM57.

  • Wow ~~ really great cover ..

    may i ask you a question .? please .

does the Boss NS-2 kill the sustain of the guitar ??

  • @neo69hk Cheers! Any noisegate is going to affect the sustain a little bit since it kills the signal when it drops below a certain level, but if you set the threshold just right then you shouldn't notice much difference.

I actually have my threshold set quite high because I'm more concerned about the signal being cut off quickly for breakdowns/riffs than I am about my notes ringing out for ages.

  • hi ross

  • @neo69hk If you still plan on geting a GOOD noise gate go with the ISP stuff. 100x better than most stuff out there. Available in rack or pedal.

  • Omfg I love this song and your guitar

  • Ya know, I had this amp and didn't realize until recently that while this is in my book the best amp in the world next to the Diezel VH4, and tone-wise it is an orgasm to play, and while it let's an instrument shine thru and takes on different sound sculpting characteristics depending on the instrument played, it has this overarching tone-theme of screamo/modern metal that for someone who harkens to the days of 90's alt/grudge/prog (Tool, AIC, Nirvana) it colors my tone in a way I can't stand :(

  • OMG!!

  • you really really don't need all of this expensive gear.. :O btw, get a haircut :P

  • I really want to know your amp and boost settings. I'm looking to move to a Deliverance from my Orange but I'm worried I won't be able to get the versatility I need out of it, but you seem to have this metalcore tone down, and I've seen plenty of videos of people playing rock and clean things.

  • I actually love you :') <33
