I was working at a CD store 16 years ago, and a guy walked in. I couldn't breathe, because I thought it was River Phoenix. It wasn't, but I married him and had a baby boy who was born the night River Phoenix died and I named him River. True story.

@traintrackzzz I did not know that Phoenix had died that night. River was given his name the next morning, only then did I realize the tragic death. Fucking Flea from Chili Peppers and Heroine. River Sage knows to NEVER do white drugs. White bread, white rice, white people. All toxic.

@LoveMichaelCera My River self-taught himself to read and write at age 3, which was how he was able to write his own plays. Doing amazing liberal slam poetry by 4th grade on stage.

@LoveMichaelCera Yes he does look a lot like him. The other weird part of the story is that my River started doing "commercials' around the house at age 4, writing his own plays at 5, so I got him an agent here in Denver and he did print, radio, and TV commercials until middle school when he started theater. He is at Denver Center for Performing Arts now, acting, singing and modeling. All him.

@traintrackzzz Well, my River just turned 18 this past Halloween, so that does make his birthday in '93. I met his dad right after grad in '92, River was born the next year. Jeez, I'm getting old, can't even remember the years of my kids' births. True story, still. And yes, he does have a striking resemblance to Phoenix, but with brown hair, very chiseled.
