Little Guitars Intro by Eddie Van Halen played using tremolo fingering technique (with added sound effects by my 2 year old daughter!). Apologies for the quiet sound, but it's a new camera and the microphone was not set correctly. You can hear it if you turn it up :) Played on an Jose Perez 670 (Almansa 457).

  • Nice job...you play it the way Eddie wished he could play it! He had to invent his left hand hammer-ons for the bass melody while he tremolo picked with his right hand...Wish I had your technique as well-I play it like Eddie:)

  • Thanks for the comment! I played electric guitar for many years, but have tried classical more recently, so I thought I'd give this a try.

  • Have you ever tried this piece as Eddie played it? Not that you would need to:)

  • I never really practised it the way Eddie played it , I think Eddies way is harder once you get the hang of tremolo picking! Have you tried it? It takes a lot of time and patience, but you do get there in the end.

  • I posted a 'video response' of me playing it Eddie's way...although I did it on a steel string Ovation which in no way sounds as good as your beautiful classical. I have a lot of guitars but I don't have a nylon string classical-I busted my fingers learning a lot of stuff on steel string that was meant for nylon string...it is kind've cool to learn stuff that way and then switch to a nylon string and fly!

  • I really like it, it sounds very close to the original. It also made me realise that my classical guitar is detuned by about a tone!

  • I had to turn it up to 11, just to hear it.

  • Yeah...Eddie tuned it real high. I think to possibly disguise that he was really "cheating" by doing it the way he did it...it isn't so obvious that he is just tremolo picking the top three open strings that way. Someone sits down to figure it out and you can't do it until you figure out that you have to tune it higher:)

  • Very nice.

  • Really nice piece you should post some more
