  • The extremely distracting vibrato totally ruins the otherwise wonderful song. Sorry. The dynamics probably only sound bad because of the recording quality.

  • well contrary to the other comments, I REALLY enjoy this african american interpretation of a beautiful song, it just means different things in different sections than what is Normal AND I SAY whats wrong with that MUSIC IS DIFFERENT FOR EACH PERSON SO WHY NOT LET IT BE PERFORMED DIFFERENTLY... Bravo Arkansas

  • Ok lets take into mind that UAPB is an HBCU, this means different vocal tone production, timbre, and interpretation. I was surprised that they even attempted bc I wasnt expecting it but it was good for what it was. Wish there was more S2 though, got chewed up by those OVERBEARING S1s!

  • why do *some* people have to ruin good, pure heavenly music with inferior interpretations? sing it as written. please. There's a reason black people have no classical European musical background

  • The vibrato is awful, totally ruins a beautiful work! What were they thinking? Worst performance I have yet ever heard of this on youtube. They must be talented and have a competent director. How could it be so badly done? I wonder if the reverb from the stone destroys any sense of ebb and flow? Whatever the reason, in or out of their control, the performance is very embarrassing for the group and the University...

  • Dis some shit shun

  • @faisclan I agree and the vibrato adds brilliance, quality, and music to the song. I wouldn't want to hear it any other way.

  • @Gary2827 Being able to sustain a note without vibrato isn't considered "plain jane." lol. I don't think vibrato is a bad thing but I have to agree with @yumiwright, it doesn't seem appropriate. This song doesn't seem the right fit for heavy, rich, vibrato.

  • @yumiwright Singing it "plain jane" would ruin it. It is a matter of taste and you seem to not like the natural vibrato.

  • Vibrato takes away from the tone of the song. I love how strong the men section is.

  • why all the wobble? it's not that type of piece.
