@makanmata I must have a different copy of “Paulinho da Viola - Meu Tempo é Hoje.” It’s a great DVD, and there’s a lot of great performances on there, but I couldn’t find “Para ver as meninas” on my copy. But as soon as I put it on, I couldn’t turn it off! Oh to live in society where playing music is such an integral part of life and socializing!

Also, thank you for your suggestions of “O Mistério do Samba” and “Velha Guarda da Portela – Tudo Azul.” I will certainly take a look at those!

@HungryEars The name of the DVD is "Paulinho da Viola - Meu Tempo é Hoje." You might also like to see the film "O Mistério do Samba" which Marisa Monte produced about the Velha Guarda da Portela, in which Paulinho da Viola also appeared and sang, as well as the earlier music CD "Tudo Azul" on which that documentary is loosly based, which is a great classic.
