I was 13 when this song came out. My Ma loved music and we had a Hi-Fi with pull out speakers. She had this album and I loved it! I would sit for hours and play this album over and over. The poignant 60's! Made even more so with Herb and his music.

Recall hearing this played on July 4, 1968 by a Marine Band, at Fort McHenry, Baltimore, while I was in port there........emotional then and easy to recall the emotions........Vietnam War was on the mind.......and my friends KIA.

One of the best memories I have of this song was while I was watching the San Francico Giants on tv and whenever the player Orlando Cepeda would come up to bat, a guy in the stands would play this song with his trumpet.

I still have a copy of this LP that was purchased by an older brother of mine. After nearly a half century, the greatness of this song still holds up well.
