  • Energy efficiency is something that has always been available to the general public; (Energy star, step down procs, power management utilities) however, the market drives development. During the server boom, folks wanted more and more servers for lower and lower cost. That lead to using less and less energy efficient electronic components to keep the cost competitive. We are starting to design with high end components to use power more efficiently instead of burning it off as heat

  • I believe that there will never be, energy efficiency, but they will play it off as more efficiency per watt, it might be 3 times more powerful, yet it takes 2.5 times as much power, so it is efficient per watt, but it still uses more energy, what do you think? Anthony From Ca
