Apologies for the erratic cursor movements, I do not have a working mouse so I'm temporarily using my pda as a (very innacurate) graphics tablet.

1. Open the picture of your choice.
2. Select the brush tool.
3. Alter the tool options (aka: size, hardness, density etc) to create a generic brush, I recommend setting the hardness to around 80.
4. In the blending modes drop down, choose saturation.
5. In the materials panel, choose any solid grey colour, it does not matter what hue or brightness, aslong as it has zero saturation.
6. Paint away! cover the areas you want desaturated.
7. Spend more time on it than I have, zoom in and alter your brush size and hardness when necessary.


I made this as a response to coppermine24's video as I felt this method is more simpler solution to get the end result.
